Cyproheptadine hydrochloride (CH) is a first-generation antihistamine which is used as an appetite stimulant
Response to cyproheptadine
Cyproheptadine Mechanism : Cyproheptadine is serotonin and histamine antagonist with anticholinergic and sedative effects
For use as an appetite stimulant, a dosing cycle of 13 weeks on therapy, followed by 1 week off therapy may enhance efficacy
Children aged 7-14 years • The usual dose is 1 tablet two or three times a day as needed
